Our Programs

The Construction and Maintenance Electrician Pre-Apprentice Program at the Skilled Trades College of Canada was designed to give students the right mix of theoretical and hands-on training to make them successful apprentices.

Electricians are very well respected in the construction industry.  It takes a very specialized set of skills and knowledge to work with electricity every day.  A career as an Electrician can provide a salary substantially higher than the national average.  Working in Construction will allow you to strike that work-life balance that we are all looking for.  A career in the trades allows you the time and will pay you the money you need to support your family, and at the same time pursue your hobbies and passions.  Live the life you deserve – Love Life, Work Construction.

The Plumber Pre-Apprentice Program at the Skilled Trades College of Canada was designed to give students the right mix of theoretical and hands-on training to make them successful apprentices.

A plumber is a tradesperson who specializes in installing and maintaining systems used for potable (drinking) water, sewage, and drainage in plumbing systems. Some of the duties that a plumber is required to perform are: installing, repairing and maintaining pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing equipment; welding, connecting, and leak testing; estimating; interpreting blueprints; supervising apprentices; and more.

The Intro to Home Renovation Program at the Skilled Trades College of Canada was designed to meet the current need for skilled trade workers in Ontario’s booming construction industry. Students will learn the basics of Framing, Drywall, Taping, Footings, Vapor Barrier, Insulation, Masonry (Brick-Laying) rough-in Electrical, rough-in Plumbing, and all relevant general construction work.

Trainees will be taught how to use the tools and apply the proper techniques required to be successful in a variety of general construction-related jobs. Graduates of this program will leave with all the relevant safety certifications, and receive the fundamental practical hands-on training in a simulated on-the-job setting.

Network Cable Technician Pre-Apprenticeship at the Skilled Trades College of Canada was designed to give students the right mix of theoretical and hands-on training to make them successful apprentices.

STC focusses on what matters most – HANDS ON!! We designed our Network Cable Technician Pre-Apprenticeship with the contractor in mind.  After all, they are the ones that are going to hire you. While it’s important to learn the theory, what’s going to make you shine as an apprentice is your ability to help the job move along. Our program ensures you are in the lab 80% of the time working with what matters most – YOUR HANDS!

The low voltage industry has expanded over the years with ever changing and upgraded technologies.
